Bee's like me....and they are perverts.....rude!

So, after Shelly and I both got stung the first time, we decided that we would stay away from the compost pile..especially when we reeked of fresh lavander. When we filled our buckets we would wheel them down to the compost "area" and to leave them till later on when we had changed, or wait for Sue to empty them. This seemed very smart. Well Sue made a fire and had asked me to come down and help her throw the brush on it. No problemo. I told her that I was staying away off from the bees though...as we are Friends Off at this time.

So I get down and I am about 30 feet from the bee hives. She is up on the compost like grabbing the dead brush and the bees are wizzing by her, no problem. So I am near the fire and tossing branches in for about 15 minutes. Well, all of the sudden a bee flies at me...and stings me !! Right on the side of my tit!! (Yes, I just used the word tit...get over it). Fackkkkkk....owwwwwwww. Wtf?? So I am trying to to freak out like a tardle so I did a quick walk up the hill away From the fire saying "I got stung again....again!) so,Sue comes after me and she is like "are you ok?". Well that's when it happened. My nightmare...... I could hear a bee....somewhere. Fuck. Its.....in......my......shirt! Ahhhhhhh, Jesus. So I am holding my shirt away from my body so it doesn't sting me and I am in total panic saying to Sue "it's going to sting me, it's going to sting me Sue!!" And she is all calm saying "just pull your shirt over your head Emily" and I'm like "NO, it's going to sting my face!!" Well this conversation went on for about 3 minutes...haha. So finally I just pulled it quick over my head and threw it on the ground in rage (haha, cuz that really proved anything). Sue smashes the bee and whew...no more bee stings. But owwww, the one on my tit (there's that word again..haha) tit just sounds funny.. My sting is hurting and I go in and google what to put on it because the last sting that I got on my ass was STILL swollen. It says toothpaste so fuck it let's put that on. So I go back out, toothpaste all over me and tell Shelly that I got stung again. Haha. She's like"really?

So two things I learned:

1) bees love me
2) Sues bees are perverts

So we finished our work in the lavander listening to a podcast about duck billed palatapus...seriously.....look that I shit up! They are fascinating creatures!! They don't have nipples!wtf?

That was the Thursday. Shelly and I spent the evening packing and getting ourselves ready for "town" the next day. Lol. We were planning on hitching into Queenstown, but Sue ended up getting us a ride from a neighbour. I felt like I was in elementary school again...standing at the the end of the driveway with my backpack...waiting for my bus.

Ok....a.d.d....I will write more..promise!

Xo

It's been a while...so much has happened..missing my Sister Wife Shelly

Well hello there,

I bet some of you are like " Finally Emily!!"...common..what could you possibly be doing that would not give you time to be able to write a post!! And you know what? You are right! I have been slacking on my blogs, and I promise to so better :)

So...wow....this post will talk about Shelly leaving. Yes....sigh....my American friend is gone. It was so bittersweet as she was going off to do fun activities with her bf for 2 weeks (perverts..I know what you are thinking....because I think it too..hehe) I am sad that she is gone, but so happy that she is having an amazing time with Luis and getting to experience so many amazing New Zealand things.

Shelly and I have been travelling together since I got here. To be exact..we were together for 30 days (I knew I was keeping my plane tickets for a reason) I really can't express in words how grateful I feel to have met her and gotten to share that time with her. It's one thing to meet someone online that you don't know at all, and wants to travel with you for a bit ( don't worry- I checked her out good first..and I only took candy from her AFTER 3 days ;) but to meet someone that person and just instantly click with, get along with, have so much. FUN with...now that's an experience:)

If I had to describe Shelly, I could EASILY describe her as one of the nicest people I have ever met. (My Mom is up there in that category :))She has a soft energy to her that you just can't not love. Shelly would give you everything she has, if she knew you needed it- and leave nothing for herself. If I had to say one of her only weaknesses is that she over-gives. She gives and gives to everyone, and sometime leaves herself out in the cold. Thats ok though..it's coming:) She is starting to realize just how friggin amazing she is, and that she deserves the very best. Shelly is funny, and outgoing. When we go somewhere she always knows the right questions to ask to engage people, and is so friggin smart when it comes to everything. ( I was constantly asking her how to spell things..haha) Shelly is caring and mothering. She is so nurturing, and even when we were both stung by bees (she was stung twice that day) through her painful face she squeezed out "are you ok Em"... I fucking love this girl. I think if I had to choose the one main thing that Shelly taught me was patience. She is a very patient girl especially with people....even more so annoying people *coughfrenchielaurencecough* Sometimes I can be quick to judge or get frustrated with people, where she takes the time to talk more, ask more and listen more. I like this about her and would like to channel some of that from her:)

Shelly and become sisters over these past 30 days ( I called her my sister wife). We worked amazing together with everything we did, we respected one another and became really good friends. I couldn't have been luckier to start my trip off with a Gem like her. The Universe did good one this one;)

So I will do a few more posts with spectate things that have happened. A little less a.d.d.so you guys can follow:) actually! that's a lie... They will still be a.d.d....haha. Who am I trying to kid.

But, if you are curious- right now I sit, drinking a cup off coffee looking out at this.......

Feeling grateful:)

Love you all!

Queenstown stole my Soul...

So Shelly and I had booked a hostel in Queenstown for the weekend. We had been dressed like homeless farmers for the week, so it was time to go in and meet some people. Our host Sue had told us that it was very safe to hitchike to town were we are (Mom, I know you are cringing at this point- but I am typing this, so that means that I am still alive..hooray!)

So we waited for the rain to stop outside, loaded up our backpacks, and headed for the road. I had my knife in my pocket (dad would be proud) and Shelly was wearing a bullet proof vest...kidding...lol

We got to the road and started walking. Shelly had just gotten the words "I wonder how long we will be walking for before someone picks us up" when we heard a car heading our way. We turned and stuck our our thumb, and as the car passed us I just knew it was going to pull over. Well it totally did! This guy driving a Land Rover got out dressed in business clothes and the first thing that he said was "What are you guys doing out here?" haha.. Well we had showered and had pretty hair..apparently we didn't look dirty enough to be backpackers.

His name was James and he was very nice. He was heading from lunch in Glenorchy into Queenstown to pick up his wife from work. We told him about all the cockroaches in Havelock North (that is our most famous story) and then Shelly started to tell him that we thought that one of them had "hitched a ride" in her suitcase to Wellington and I was like..ahhhh.Shelly shhhh....haha. He is totally going to think that we are infesting his nice car with Bugs..haha. So he was really sweet and dropped us off really close to the hostel. Shelly and I went in and check into our 10 PERSON ROOM. Ok, first of all..10 people is WAYYYYY too many people for one room. We walked into the room and I had a flashback of college. (no, not me doing a keg stand at a party) but it was just kinda gross, messy and smelled like puberty and shame (don't question it...just go with it) The room was super messy and there were people everywhere! Well...8 other people to be exact. hehe. There were two couples that had moved their mattresses onto the floor and were having snuggle time watching a movie. Shelly and I basically dropped our stuff and headed out to explore the town.

We met up with our friends Marina and Jonny that we had met the weekend before in Wellington. The were just getting back from bungee jumping, so they were telling us all about it. Looks amazing, and if I wasnt a poor person I would probably do it, but priorities are a must for me, especially until my car sells. (please Baby Jesus let me car sell!)

Anyways, we ended up going on a pub crawl because it got us into 5 bars and we got cheap drinks We met a ton of really cool people, and had a couple...a few.....er....maybe 1 or two drinks :) For anyone questioning my statement on priorities above....yes- this was a priority ;)

Marina, Me & Shelly in the ICE Bar...yes they gave us coats and mitts when we went in. Shelly is deceiving the camera with her smile...as she HATES the cold. haha

Group Shot :) Here was part of our little Queenstown Family <3

Sue Farry...Deer Farmer and Jack of all Trades..

So I will be honest..it's Thursday night and I am wayyy behind in my blogging. Again, it's not like I have any really great reason why I haven't..I have just been lazy. SO, instead of going through the last 4 days, I will just highlight the funny/good stuff.

Ok here we go...

So, When it is yucky outside..we clean. I have never cleaned so many windows in my life, and I think I started to like it at one point. um......mom? Is this your doing?

Sue makes the most delicious meals I have ever had. She just "whips them up"..no biggie. The last thing I "whipped up" was peanut butter on some celery...dammit.

Sue's house has NO cockroaches!! hooray!

The weather here changes every 3 minutes...so layers are a must.

"Gum boots"..aka rain boots are the big thing out here. Yes, Shelly and I have pairs that we wear..and we are Trendy (don't say Trendy Britt..)

Queenstown is EXPENSIVE!! I paid 4 bucks for a travel size toothpaste.....TRAVEL SIZE!

Today Shelly and I were dumping the weeding bins down in the compost, which is beside the bee hives. All of the sudden they started chasing us, and we both got stung. Shelly got stung on the inside of her arm, and under her shirt near her bra, and I got stung on the ass. As I was running away from the bees in my 'gum boots" and pants over leggings, my pants started to fall down and I was trying to run, up the hill, in my gum boots, with my pants around my ankles ( i had leggings on under..it wasnt that XXX )trying to get the bees off me.  Please visualze this now......bahahah! We did get out of work a half an hour early..and it looks like I have a hicky on my butt cheek....Success!

When you smell like lavender....bee's chase you and try to sting you....

Today a bunch of older kiwi men were being funny and trying to get us to go somewhere with them in their van...I told them I only go into strange vans that have candy... they had no response..hahah

Goats sound hilarious....

When you don't shave your armpits for 5 days, and then finally do...you may need two razor blades...just sayin

Shelly and I are going into Queenstown Town tomorrow for the weekend. We are staying at a hostel and our friends Jonny and Marina are there too. Should be a fun weekend! I am excited to wear real clothes and look like a woman again! yay for Real World activities!

Miss you all!

Oh ya, Shelly and I are staying here next week as well. We got weird creepy vibes from the other farm we were supposed to stay at, so we asked Sue and she said we can stay. Yay! Then i am off to a fig farm after that for a week. And then I think I am heading to Nelson..yay for having a bit of a plan :)

Night!

view from the backyard

so pretty!

Sue Farry...What a Gem...

So once we get off the plane from Christchurch (we had to take 2 planes to get to Queenstown) we found ourselves a shuttle to take us to meet Sue, the woman we were wwoofing with, in town. The scenery was absolutely stunning. It reminded me of out west...but with a LOT more green. So we got dropped off where we were meeting Sue and as soon as we got ur bags out she got out of her car and came over to greet us. She is tiny, and has the coolest kiwi accent. She asked us about our flight and we chatted about her family. She is a widow..her husband who was a very well known doctor passed away 4 years ago suddenly. Her house...if you can even call it that....is about 20 minutes outside the town.

So she is telling us all of the great hiking trails as we drive by them. She lives in an amazing area where lots of people from "in town" drive out to hike. We pull into the laneway...wow. Her place is called "Bob's Cove...Punatapu." It just is...so don't ask me why..haha. She has SOOO much property. So, to be honest I had no idea what her place looked like beforehand (sometimes they put pics up on the wwoofing website) so this was a HUGE shock for me. Ok, well I will just attach a few pics so you can see for yourself....

As we started driving in...I was like...ummm....wtf?

Here is the front of the house...all of that green in the front is lavander...

This is in the hallway beside our room...wow

So there is someone that rents the small one on the left, and on the right is one of 3 kitchens...yes...I said ONE of THREE kitchens...

So I could basically take a photo of every single thing in this house, but that would fill this whole page...and requires more work. But basically this place is amazing. She farms Deer and goats...one of the goats reminds me of a Wizard...I have to get a pic and put it one here..haha. Made me laugh.

So she shows us all around the house and where everything is, and then gives us some dirty clothes for weeding. We are required to work 4 hours a day, and she gives us 3 meals a day...and once we are done work we have the rest of the day to do whatever we want. It's wicked!
So at this point it's about noon and we put on our clothes and get started in the lavander patch. It's massive, and we are to clear out all the weeds and clip away all the dead stuff. I actually don't mind it, The lavander smells amazing and it's kind of like a meditation. The stupid sand flies though..we are friends off. They look like baby flies, and they bite like a mother-fucker. The bites swell up and ooze yicky stuff when you scratch them too....but it's so hard not to itch! They are itchy!!

So after we finished our 4 hours we went in and got changed for dinner. She is an unreal cook, so they food that we get is Grade A stuff.  We went inside and watched some T.V until bed. We were Sooo tired from only having 3 hours sleep the night before, and working outside hat we went to bed around 9:00 am. It was a wonderful first day in our new home for the next while :) I feel very lucky to be staying with Sue. She is pretty friggin cool ;)

xo

Here are some of her deer....she calls them her "babies" :)

Oh ya..almost forgot the best part! She has a FULL gym that we can use...like every machine that Goodlife has....score!

8 hours in Wellington & two new friends..hmmm...what shall we do?

So Shelly and I get off the bus and its about 9:30pm..I think. We grab our bags, and then have no idea where we are going and what we are doing..lol. Our flight was at 7:00 am the next day and we were about 15 minutes from the airport. hmmm...we had passed a hostel on the way to where we being dropped off so we headed down in that direction. We found a Nomads Hostel (which is the same hostel...or sorry..backpackers that we are staying at in Queenstown next weekend) We went in and it looked nice. I have to say, I was a Virgin to the whole Hostel experience (ladies...insert funny joke here...I know you have a ton of them). We got 2 beds in a 8 person room...well this should be fun. It was a Saturday so when we headed up to our room I thought most people would be out partying. When you open up the door to the room you have to insert your card into the slot thingy (that's what she said... & yes, I am so technical) to turn on the light. Well that's just annoying. :s

We go into the room and it's like a sleepover room from when I was 15. There were 4 sets of bunk beds...like the cheap metal squeeky ones..haha. Shelly and I started throwing our bags around and trying to find an empty bed. That's when I heard someone say.."Canada"....ahhh! I turned around and there was a guy sleeping (well he had just woken up..or I should say we JUST woke him up. Then I heard another voice of a girl and we were like "we are sooo sorry for waking you up". She was so sweet. We all became "insta friends". We started chatting about Canada and turns out that they are from Vancouver. Shelly and I asked them if they wanted to come out for a beer with us and they said that they were too tired. So while Shelly and I tried to peice ourselves together with a bit of make-up and some deodorant (yes we are classy like that) we exchanged stories of where we had been and where we are going. They had been in the north and arrived in Wellington after an 11 hour bus ride. They were actually heading to Queenstown as well, so I started to get Marina's information so we could meet up with them one night. That's when I used my Sales experience to get them to come out.  (Thanks Carly! You would have been proud :)

Here's how it went down:

Me: So.....are you sure you don't want to come for a drink with us?
Marina: Naw..i'm really really tired.
Me: Are you sureeeeeeeee? I mean..we are only here for 1 night...I heard there are wicked bars here!
Marina: nawww.....I don't think so..
Me: Well we have to get up at 5:00 am to catch a ride to the airport, and we will just go out for 1 or two. Common..you guys are awesome! Let's go explore and have some fun
Marina: I dunno...I'm not really ready to go out.
Me: who cares! We are gross from sitting on a bus, and I am wearing lulu's and running shoes....commonnnnnn....!!
Marina: ok, fine :) Jonny (her friend) get dressed, we are going out!
Shelly & I: Hooorayyyyyyyy! Success!!

So they get dressed and then we head out. We heard some loud music, so we instinctively followed that, but when we finally got to it, it was up in someones apartment..hahah. whoops!
We were walking down the street and Jonny asked some chick what a good bar to go to, and she directed us in the right direction. We went in, got a drink and set up shop in this little booth- with full view of the dancefloor. haha. We had prime seating for what we think was "dress up in your worst clothes from the 90's, get as drunk as you can, and dance so weird that it makes onlookers feel uncomfortable"..haha, It was epic We basically sat and had our own show, Marina and Jonny were awesome. They were just like us and we all got along great. We made plans for them to stay in the same hostel as us and we would party with them for the weekend. We were wwoofing with a woman named Sue for the week, and then heading into the hostel for the weekend as Sue's house was about 20 minutes from town.

We stayed till last call and then headed back to the hostel...i mean...LIE! Where do you think we headed first? Obviously McDonalds! yeahhhhh!!! We watched a fight almost break out over spilled McNuggets, stuffed our faces and then headed back to the hostel.

When we walked into the room it smelled like farts and boy sweat. The 4 German boys were sleeping (it was about 2:30 am at this time). We tried to be quiet, but getting up on the top bunk of that bed was like a squeeky dog toy...and then we would start laughing. Oh wait, before that Jonny and I watched one of the German boys scratch his butt for like 5 minutes..and he was groaning..hahahahah! I was dying..and kinda drunk so it was wayyy funnier! (Is funnier even a word? Well..it is now!)
We would all start to laugh, and then a German guy would grunt, and then we would be quiet, and then we would laugh again. Anyways, when the alarm went off at 5:00 am...I really wanted to die. We were sooooo tired, but it was so worth it. Last minute random nights are always the funnest (hmmm, is THAT a word?..sweet jesus I am making my own language- Stop judging me!)

Our shuttle bus thing pulled up and we were on our way to the airport. It was so cool to get to meet Jonny and Marina and have new friends to party with when we get to Queenstown.

Oh.....and when we first got into our room, and were mid story telling jonny and Marina about the Cockroaches...swear to fucking god...one was walking across the room...WTF?!?! They followed us! Bastards! If that cockroach was a person, Shelly would have beat the shit out of him..and I would have feared for his life. haha!

Wellington...you are fun :)

Roaches.....Ain't Nobody Got Time for That!...

So...the eve of our departure..and on to new adventures.  We hadn't gotten much sleep from the Roaches, so we were both pretty tired. (and kinda angry...seriously...on the walls is one thing..but IN OUR BED?? Really?) So I made the coffee and we both started to pack. I brought my backpack downstairs and beat the shit out of it, as to scare out any bugs that may be plotting their escape to Queenstown with us, I then started the "rolling" game...yay. Rolling up all your clothes into little balls (hehe..I said balls) and then stuffing them into the bag like stuffing a turkey- hoping and praying that it will all fit. Luckily, everything went in and I didn't have to leave anything behind. (That's what he said?)

After we were all packed....we both realized that it was 9:00 am, and we still had the rest of the day,and  night..haha. I had messaged the neighbour Jill, asking her if we could sleep over - as there were bugs in our bed. haha. She replied "Absolutely", so that was VERY exciting for us, They had already invited us to go to the "Hot Pool" (which is like a Nordik spa where you can talk and there are children running around) and dinner afterwards. We still had the day to kill so we ventured into town.

I had to go to the bank and sort out some account crap, so after that we decided to to and have a "Goodbye Hawkes Bay' glass of vino at the pub down the street. We chatted about all of the things that we had enjoyed over the past two weeks (the beach, hikes, Jill & David, Anna that we met, the concert, Shelly putting the band guys dreads on her head) and those that we didn't "coughbugsinthehouseandbedcough".  Then we headed back to the house to finish some last minute cleaning.

Jill messaged me and told them to meet us at the bottom of the hill to head to the hot pools. When they came done Jill jumped out of the car and brought us each a peice of fudge...OMG I  love her. She is honestly one of the sweetest women I have ever met. She drove Matts car as she said that her husband David drives as fast as a racecar driver, and we are still new to driving on the left side of the road-let alone driving 130kms..haha.

The hot pools were cool. They were very relaxing. Jill paid for us, which was really sweet. We stayed for about 2 hours, and then headed accross the street to have some dinner, It was weird when we went to pay, as you don't tip here. We were at a Jack Astors type restaurant, and I felt like a cheap bitch not leaving a tip, but that's how they do it. They almost find it weird when you do. I felt so guilty that I put my change into a charity box..haha.

So we went back to Jill and David's nice....clean...warm...bugless...house :) It was awesome., She started a fire and we sat and watched the  and had a glass of wine :) When we went to bed, the room was immaculate...and the sheets were clean :) It was so nice to go to bed and not have to worry about creepy crawlies having a game of poker on us while we are sleeping. I felt safe. Oh, and the best part was I didnt have to walk 19 minutes to go to the bathroom..oh the things that we take for granted.

So the next morning we woke up and had coffee and breakfast wirth the family. Jill's son Adam came up and we chatted about travel. He has been wanting to travel now for a while, so it was cool for him to be able to ask questions. Shelly has done a TON of travelling and was able to answer a lot of questions for him. After breaky we headed back to the house and picked up our bags. We said our good-byes to the awkward cats, and we were off to the airport to pick up Matt.

Matt's flight came in about 45 minutes late so Shelly plugged her phone in to charge for the 5 hour bus ride. When Matt got off the plane we had to wait about half an hour for him to shmooze with all of the parents, as he had just been away for the past 2 weeks in Sri Lanka coaching the kids Cricket team. He had to chat with the parents, and do all the stuff that teachers do, so Shelly and I just hung out.

Once he was ready to go, we headed into Napier and Matt dropped us off in town to wait for the bus, We went into Starbucks and Shelly sat with the bags while I went up to get our coffee's. When I came back poor Shlelly was looking all frantic. She could not find her phone. Uh-Oh. I was convinced that she had picked it up from the airport and it was in Matt's car. We messaged Jill and asked her to call Matt to see. My heart sunk for Shelly when she called us (on the Starbucks phone..what a Gem) and told us that Matt had checked the car and it wasnt there. Shelly asked a girl if she could use their cell, as the girl at Starbucks was a rude biatch and would not let Shelly make an "outcall". Karma...that's all I will say about that. So poor Shelly is trying to get a hold of someone at the airport, and all she is getting is automated voices, so she hangs up and comes and sits down. I felt so terrible for her. The girl that had let her use the phone came over and told Shelly that she would drive her to the airport to see if it's there. Wow...what a sweetheart. So off Shelly went with her and about 20 minutes later she came back and I could see a smile on her face. YAYYYYY! Wow...what a happy ending to a stressful afternoon.

So we walked over to catch the bus. The bus was called "The Naked Bus"...so naturally I took off all my clothes and waied for it to arive....hehe..KIDDING! That would have been funny though...and possibly slightly illegal ;) When in Rome?

The bus ride was fine. Well..it was a smelly bus. But it was getting us where we needed to go- so that was good :) It stopped at one point and the bus driver gave us 10 minutes to pee and grab some food...so naturally I took that as "pee...and a shot of tequilla". Shelly and I ran over and looked for anything that looked like it could be a bar. We found one, and by the sale of the 2$ condoms in the womans washroom- I knew we had found a classy one ;)

We came out...did a shot...went outside...realized that we still had 5 minutes....went back in...did one more.....and ran back to the bus. It made the last 2 hours quite fun actually, :)

So we arrived in Wellington around 10:15pm, and I will continue onto that night in the next post :) My fingers hurt, and my contacts are drying out...dammit.

To Be continued..... (yes- I know I am behind with my posts. Back off and get your own sandwich!)

<3

Someone slept with me last night....well my back.....sweet fuck there was a Roach in my Bed!!

Ummm...so follow up to yesterday's blog. Shelly and I went to bed around 11:30. I always check the bed for bugs (sad to even have to type that) and it was good to go. So around 2:00 am, while I was dreaming about eating Nutella off a spoon with a dolphin (what..I have a crazy mind) in my dream I feel like something is crawling across my back. Well....my dream turned into reality (minus the nutella and dolphin..dammit..I love nutella) and I jumped up an did the "crazy bug dance". Ok, you all know it...the crazy move where you shake your entire body like you are having a seizure while brushing off every part of your skin. So I didn't want to freak out Shelly, so in the dark as calmly as I could (it took EVERYTHING in my will power to now shreak at her BUG IN THE BED, BUG IN THE BED I said "Um, Shelly, we need the light on" ! She jumped up and turned on the light and we couldn't find anything, Then I hoped in my mind that it was just part of my dream and there really was no bug. I tried to stay calm.  (in my mind I was losing it) and said "maybe it was just in my dream..and there's no bug". Then Shelly"s eyes darted toward a ziplock bag of my stiuff and she said "No..there it is. There is a big cockroach". She beat the thing like it owed her money..hehe (sorry mom..it was late..we were not about to Free the Roach). Then we were both freaked out so Shelly went to sleep on the couch, and I slept with the light on (after checking the sheets 67 times and spraying bug spray around the room (I am sure that was amazing for my lungs). So, that being said- we asked the neighbour Jill if we can sleep at her place tonight and she said yes. hahaha! Oh lord Jesus...there's Roaches!!!

My legs are making their debut in the next Bounder edition....

Hehehe...

Turkeyyyyyyyyyyyyys for Daddy!

Dad! Saw these Turkey's and thought of you! Xo
TURKEYS!

CockRoaches.....two things that frighten me when they sneak up unexpectedly.......

Hiiiiiiiiiii,
So it's Thursday here, and that means that in two more sleeps Shelly and I leave for our next adventure...wahoo. I have really enjoyed Hawkes Bay (we are now well known with the Havelock North, Hastings, & Napier area). It's country living and the views that we have seen are A-MAZING!

So, this morning Shelly and I woke up and the house was FREEZING!!! It's been a chilly past few days, so in the morning it is necessary to layer. SO, that being said, when I got up this morning and went to pull one of my hoodies off of the bed post that is RIGHT BESIDE MY HEAD and saw a friggin COCKROACH!..Ewwwwwwww..... They are even in our room now. They are sneaky ninja bugs too...like the other night I went to close the drapes and BANG...face to face with one of those creepy bugs. Yick! The  sweet neighbour Jill told us in her sweet brittish accent (oh those things..you just flip em' over and then grab em' by their feelers".....umm.....nah. Usually this is what happens when one of us see them. Well actually..let's talk about Shelly's reaction to a big one that was crawling on the wall last night.

So we had invited our two German friends we met (Anna and Anna- Not confusing at all :)) over for supper. Anna does Accupuncture and I had hurt my knee a few days ago on a hike, so she was going to help me with that while her friend Anna serenated us with her piano skills,. haha. it was amazing! Shelly made THE most AMAZING Quish...Queesh...dammit...dinner...it was Unreal! Her new nickname shall be "Shelly McMartha"

SO...we are at the table eating and Shelly is mid conversation in a really great story and all of the sudden she is like "Um....Emily...." and is staring at the wall. At first I was confused...I was like "how am I a part of this story?" and then I clue in. So we all turn around, and scream (because we are girls, and we can) and ewwwwwwwwww...its crawling on the wall. So Anna (blonde Anna) is like "get me a cup and I will catch it" and I'm like "just get a shoe and kill it" and she is like no it's ok I can catch it and Shelly is like "HURRY- It's going to go in the wall". So Anna casually grabs a cup and paper and catches this nasty thing and she's like "I will put it outside" and we are like "nooo, it will come back in. Flush it in the toilet!" and she's so sweet and is like "but what if it comes back up?" and i'm like "no way....it can't and won't. So we go to the bathroom and she releases the beast into the toilet but feels terrible for killing it so she runs away and I'm all like "Yeahhhh" as I flush it and watch it get sucked up into he black hole of toilet death.

So- kinda funny, later on Anna tells us that she is a vegetarian and Shelly is like "you are a vegetarian and you killed a bug" and her reaction was "NO NO, I DIDN'T PUSH THE BUTTON!" hahahaha....we died...bahaha. I love that girl.

Ok, so now back to today. So we get up, I kill the nasty bug (ewww) and then come downstairs. We have coffee and breaky and then message Anna (blonde Anna- Brunette Anna had to work today). We were going to pick her up at her hostel in Napier and go to the Falls that we had heard of from her- Shine Falls. She had already been there but she said it was so beautiful that she would totally go again.

So we pick Anna up and make our way out of Napier to the Falls. The roads are sooo windy here so when you are driving it's hard to get to see the pretty scenery. Shelly and I will take turns driving, which is awesome.  We get to the parking lots aka a field with a sign and we head out. First we are walking through a massive field filled with sheep...and then we head into what looks like Narnia, and then a Forest and then about 45 minutes in we get to the falls. Oh...My..God. I don't know if I have seen something so amazing in my entire life. The sun was shining, and the sound, smell, feel everything about this waterfall was breathtaking. We had a Waterfalls photoshoot and here are some of the pics :)
(they seriously don't do it justice)

Side of the Road before we got to the Falls (yes, we were "those" girls)

Shelly and I....un-freakin real Waterfall..

Weeeeeeeee...

Neato Gang!

Anna & I :)

The only time I have ever looked small in a photo....I mean ever...like even as a baby....

I should have put my feet in the pic..they would have looked tiny....dammit

Whoopsie...things have escalated...

Anyways, after the walk back to the car we headed to this beach (I forget the name) and we literally walked onto the beach...touched the water...sat in the sand for a bit...then back to the car. Why? Because i was FREEEEEEEZZZIINNNGGGGG! The wind was super strong, and even though from the inside of a car it looked like a "hot summer day" when you got out it was NOT! It was neat to see it though (That's pretty Neat)

We then headed to "The Thirsty Whale" for a celebration of seeingf epic waterfalls Beer- Naturally. What?  It was a tough day..hehe

So we are back home now. Shelly is practicing her piano and I am typing this. Thinking about all my stuff I need to pack, and how we need to make sure that NO Cockroaches come with us on the bus to Wellington....seriously...I will burn my bag.  (Ok, that's a big lie- But I WILL scream like a girl and kick it a lot like a crazy person. Well...more than I usually do...hehe.

Oh Ya...and my main thought when we got to the Waterfall was "wow....Mom would absolutely LOVE this" You were there in Spirit Mamma ;)

Oh..and P. S. Remember when I told Anna that the bug will not come back up the toilet? A few hours later she goes into the washroom, and then comes out and is like "Emily- the bug is in the toilet".....whatttttttt? That thing did not want to go! hahahahaha- AS IF!! haha, again...died laughing.

That's pretty neat!

Sweet lord...Whisky is NOT the same without Ice! That should be law..

So....PERHAPS...I am drinking Whisky....and PERHAPS...it is WARM..because apparently their fridges don't have freezers attached to them...and they dont have ice! Boooo. But apparently that didn't stop me tonight. haha. Shelly and I went for a long walk on the beach as the weather was ka-ka today and we were feeling restless in the house. The coolest part was when we saw a huge Seal that was almost right on that beach!! We walked over and were honestly 10 feet from it! At first we thought it was hurt...and I was like Shit...do Seals bite? Obviousy if it was hurt my instinct would be to run over and help it. (I am not sure how...maybe give it a hug? wink at it? Recite In Flanders Fields? Shoot..well I didn't have to as it turned around and kinda swam away, but not before flipping around and givng us a show :) Probably one of the coolest things I have seen so far, and usually at this point I was put in a cool pic of the Seal, but guess what...I...didn't...bring...my...camera! haha! Of course not. LOL. Oh well..it was really neat.

The rest of the day was spent eating and slothing (I had lots of practice in Calgary so I am really good at it ;)) Maybe I can turn it into an olympic sport? Count the bed sores from laying on ones back so long?

Wait...I did eat an entire (family size) Cadbury bar....crap....shame. LOL

But the neighbour Jill did invite is to go to Napier to some hot springs on Friday, and then out for dinner (apparently when someone invites you "out for tea" that is inviting you for supper...LOL...who knew?) so that should be fun.

Anyways, miss you all at home :) The rain here sounded amazing...just sayin ;)

Hugs!
